“You will absolutely love this place for more reasons than one!”
November 5, 2012

We have stayed in several B&Bs, but this was the best ever! Doug and Hannah are wonderful hosts. They make sure you know what there is to do in the local area, and provide directions for getting there. More importantly, they are kind, gracious and very enjoyable! Their breakfasts are so delicious and creative; we loved them all -- couldn't choose a favorite! The entire 1840s-era house, which they have completely renovated themselves while keeping it historically acurate, is spotlessly clean and warmly decorated. We were there at the height of the fall color, which was gorgeous, but I'm sure this part of NC is beautiful every season of the year.

“Historic B&B perfectly situated for wine country visit”
October 24, 2012

Not knowing anything about the wines of NC, we were blown away not only at the quality of wines, but also of this fantastic B&B. Hannah and Doug were fantastic hosts and provided a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere that allowed everyone staying at the B&B to feel like they were at home. Hannah is a fantastic cook (we loved the Giada inspired Praline French toast with raspberry glaze). Hannah and Doug also have a working farm on the property so feel free to introduce yourself to the cows on the opposite side of the property.
We would highly recommend spending your time in the wine region between Tues and Sat, as many restaurants close on Sun and Mon. We just had to search a bit harder to find a restaurant. If you're in a bind, Dewey's Thai is actually quite delicious (located in Elkins).

“A Nice Suprise. Family Homestead and Vineyards!”
October 17, 2012

My husband and I stayed here while touring the Skyline Drive & Blue Ridge Parkway for the fall foliage. Doug met us at the door and gave us a tour of his wonderful family homestead, vineyards and information about the surrounding town. It is rich with history! The house has been restored, but not to the extent that it would lose the integrity of what it once was. It was a full house that night (as usual we understand) so we met fellow travelers at breakfast. Hannah and Doug (in charge of meat) were cooking away as we all hung in the kitchen and chatted before breakfast. Breakfast was delightful and filling.

Doug told us about so many things to see and do in this area... but our time was short. This would be a great area to get back to in the future and we would for sure stay here!
We stayed at three B&B's on this trip (all very nice), but this one was a highlight. We wish we would have had more time.

“Best B&B”
October 16, 2012

We love this place. Hannah & Doug are the best host & hostess we have ever met. Great people, great bed & breakfast. The rooms are big and well maintained. The back porch is a great place to sit and just relax and look at the scenery. The breakfast, Hannah out does herself each and every breakfast, from stuffed french toast to pumpkin waffles. Every visit is a great experience. We loved this place so much we got married there. It was a wonderful way to start our marriage, standing on the back porch, fall leaves turning colors, friends and family and hannah and doug. We were so glad we chose the Rockford Inn for our ceremony. It was our dream wedding. Go and experience the Rockford Inn yourselves, you won't be disappointed.

“We'll Be Back”
October 9, 2012

This was our second trip, and once again everything was perfect. If you’re a fan of historic properties, this definitely fits the bill. The hewn-log walls in the central part of the house have been there for generations. The rest was gradually built around it, but all in the 1800s. Check out historic Rockford while you’re there. The owners of this B&B are leading the charge to put this cute little town back on the map! The rooms are all spacious and cozily appointed, with VERY comfortable beds. We slept well!

The breakfasts are among the best we’ve had among many B&Bs — awesome crème brulee French toast, spinach quiche, fruit pizza, pumpkin waffles with cranberry butter. It’s worth a stay for the food alone! The proximity to area wineries is the icing on the cake. This spot is rustic and peaceful, yet within minutes of dozens of wineries. We highly recommend building in time for a quiet nap in between “wining” and dinner. Our favorite restaurant pick is 21 & Main in nearby Elkin, but Sanders Ridge also gets high marks. The inn owners will give you all the information you need about the area without bogging you down. With its immaculate restful setting, fabulous food and wonderful hosts (Thanks Hannah and Doug!) we are already looking forward to the next visit!

“Beautiful Historic Home” September 30, 2012

This is a lovingly and beautifully restored 19th Century farmhouse that is well worth the visit. Nearer to the historic village of Rockford than Dobson, but convenient to some excellent local wineries. Doug and Hannah are friendly hosts, a wealth of local information and eager to please. The breakfast was first class.

“Lovely and Peaceful B&B”
September 5, 2012

We stayed two nights at the Rockford Inn B&B and loved our experience. Hannah and Doug were so warm and kind. The breakfast was wonderful, the Mountain Laurel room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. It was a wonderful experience -especially getting to know the history of the house. I'm so glad we chose to stay at the Rockford Inn B&B.

Thank you Hannah and Doug!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are lovely and spacious.

“We had a wonderful stay for our 59th anniversary!”
June 15, 2012

We picked the Rockford Inn Bed and Breakfast for our 59th anniversary celebration and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were very comfortable, very relaxed, and very well treated by Hannah and Doug. The breakfasts morning were supurb and our travels around Surrey County were interesting and attractive, and we're both looking forward to returning for another stay, hopefully in the fall. Joan joins me in sending our best regards and thanks, Bill Butcher

“A Step Back In Time”
June 12, 2012

Take a step back when you stay at The Rockford Inn. This is a wonderfully kept 100+ yearold family treasure. Hannah and Doug are the most gracious and freindly hosts I've had the pleasure of staying with. They share duties in the kitchen to make a delicious breakfast, and will help you find your way around the area whether it is finding the vineyards or a place to have lunch or dinner. A return is in my plans.

“Awesome Get Away”
May 29, 2012

My husband and I were on a long weekend get away to NC wine country and decided to stay two nights at the Rockford Inn Bed and Breakfast. It was a great decision and certainly added to an awesome weekend. Hannah and Doug made us feel very welcome. They were warm and friendly and the very best of hosts. The Rockford Inn was all we wanted in a bed and breakfast...warm, inviting, comfortable. Our room was great and the "extras" were an added bonus (drinks in the fridge and cookies on the table). Breakfast each morning was wonderful! We especially enjoyed Hannah's french toast--stuffed with strawberries! We are already planning our next trip back!

“Second Visit”
April 17, 2012

This is our second visit to Rockford Inn. Hannah and Doug alway go out of their way to insure all of our needs are met. The breakfasts were wonderful especially the stuffed French toast. Our room was very comfortable. One of the neatest thing was to sit outside and enjoy what I call "silentude" the sound of silence. The location is ideal for folks who want to come wineing in the Yadkin Valley. Strongly recommend the Rockford Inn. We are already looking forward to our next stay that the Rockford Inn in the beautiful Yadkin Valley.

“Emaculate and so welcoming!”
April 3, 2012

Our stay was comfortable, cozy, and so relaxing. Doug and Hannah were the most accomodating and friendly hosts. The proximity to Shelton Vineyards for the Wine Festival and to Stony Knoll was perfect. The house is adorable and so unique-breakfast was delicious and we had the nicest time walking to the town of Rockford and sitting out in your gardens. Thank-you for a wonderful weekend and a new french toast recipe!

“Charming B&B”
March 11, 2012

The Rockford Inn is both Charming & cozy. You feel welcomed and very comfortable as soon as you walk in. Hannah & Doug are most gracious hosts and felt like we were visiting old friends. Snow starting falling just before breakfast, did they plan that? Nice touch to a perfect stay! Don't miss out on this wonderful B&B. You will not be disappointed.
